About us

Background: The Décor School is a division of the well known Learning Group who are based in the Natal Midlands. We specialise in Distance Education courses which range from Comprehensive Writing to our Practical Business Course. For the past 18 years, we have successfully marketed an Interior Design Course which was designed mainly around American Interior Decorating principles. We decided that it was time that we developed and marketed a brand new world class Interior Decoration course that embodied the latest, and truly international principles of Interior Decoration, but with a South African perspective. We also recognized the fact that many of our students have in the past asked for advice on how to open and run their own Interior Decorating business. With these goals in mind, we set out to design a truly modern and comprehensive course on Interior Decorating, with emphasis on the business aspects of the trade. In 2004 we engaged the services of top-flight interior decorator Brenda Horner to write the course, and launched the Décor School Interior Decorating Course in January, 2006. One of the unique aspects of the Décor School course is that it describes locally available and up-to-date materials in the teaching process.
